Sth Qld Laser Championship GP2 25th June 2022

Wow, after the disappointment of this regatta's postponed washout day last month ( sorry about that folks) we were blessed with almost perfect weather , albeit a little lacking in pressure at times, with some great sailing conditions, and sportsman like competitive racing.
Special thanks to the volunteers from SCRSC who made this event work and thanks to the entrants with special thanks to the guys who travelled ( Peter O, David P and Daniel B ). Particular thanks also to the SCRSC Laser sailors who entered and sailed very competitively .
I personally heard very few complaints from anyone on the day, however if anyone would like to forward to me anything that we as a club can improve upon, please contact me and we will address what we can to make improvements for future regattas .
Sincerely
John Halloran

About the South Qld Laser Champs, what I wanted to get across is the sterling job done by John Halloran and the Race Management Team. The conditions were difficult with an inconsistent breeze in both velocity and direction.  Neil Carroll, the RO with Jim Jim O'Shannessy in the boat as mark layer did a great job of laying the course and just tweaking the start or top mark to get as near a perfect course as possible. Races were run back-to-back with little delay, whilst the breeze was in with enough time given to competitors to change rigs as was considered necessary which was often!

In summary – well done SCRSC on an excellent event.
