95windward1 thumbDue to the current condition of Emerald Lakes Park Land and the forecast for heavy rain to continue over the weekend, the Sunday PRYC-hosted DF 95 invitational event has been postponed.

SEQLD is currently subject to severe weather and possible flash flood warnings. I inspected Emerald Lakes this afternoon and although the lake is not flooded at his time, I found the parkland to be waterlogged and susceptible to damage, particularly along the road verge. As you may be aware, Emerald Lakes is built on a flood plain and has poor drainage to get rid of excess water within the park. Even when the park is not flooded, it becomes impracticable to park cars along the verge of the road due to the damage this causes.

The PRYC Committee regrets any inconvenience this may cause however believe it is in the best long-term interest of RC sailing at Emerald Lakes. All fees paid will be fully refunded.

The Club will negotiate the possibility of rescheduling the event with the QRYA. We will advise all those members that entered the event of any changes and post them on the QRYA website as soon as details become available.

On behalf of the PRYC Committee, the DF 95 fleet, and myself, I would like to thank those members who volunteered to assist in running the event, and hope you will make yourself available, should the event be rescheduled.
