DF95s still growing fast

Following the very successful DF95 South Queensland Championships at the Moreton Radio Yacht Squadron last month the fleet has continued to grow.  Members race at the Newport venue every Sunday morning.

Interesting to see has been the standard of racing rapidly increase as a result the weekly racing and hosting the recent Championship where members got the opportunity to sail with skippers from other clubs.  Being a relatively new class, tuning experience is light on the ground but the Moreton Members are sharing what they have learned with each other and new members.

Malcolm Gresham was the best placed host club sailor at the SQ Championships and this class seems to have drawn out his sailing skills, he is now consistantly near the top of the 95 fleet.  Seems that this boat suits him.  Seen here making those all important fine tuning adjustments

Ian Lobley is the QRYA Treasurer who after videoing the last DF95 event at the Newport venue, decided to try them himself.  Ian is seen here launching his new boat, to shortly after record his first heat win in the class.  This was pretty impressive given the experience at the Moreton club now.  Looks like watching all those videos during processing and editing has sharpened his tactical skills!

Ian Ashe the QRYA Events Coordinatory is in the process of squeezing another DF95 event in South East Queensland into the busy calendar.  We will announce any new events here and to all clubs.
